VIMwatch: 2011 Academy Awards

The 83rd Annual Academy Awards (promoted oddly as "Oscar" this year) have finally happened and the fashion was, again, fabulous. Below see our top picks of tonight's stunners.

Ladies

Again, Mila Kunis stunned on the red carpet (she is killing it lately!) in a purple, lace Elie Saab Haute Couture gown. Kunis' accessories were from Neil Lane (jewelry) and Bottega Veneta (clutch).

A performer for the night, Gwyneth Paltrow, looked amazing in her metallic-gold — or silver, we can't tell — Calvin Klein dress (the metallic look is quite the trend this awards season — tough to pull off but quite beautiful when done right). Paltrow topped off her look with Brian Atwood heels and a gorgeous Louis Vuitton ring (among other lovely accessories).

Gents

When it comes to the Academy Awards, the men tend to play it safe, sporting the classic tuxedo look. This style was brought to perfection on the 2011 red carpet by the men of The Social Network who all looked awesome (and might we say are part of one of the sexiest casts ever). From left, we have Justin Timberlake and Andrew Garfield and below right is Jesse Eisenberg.

Russell Brand, who took his mother to this year's Oscars (as his wife is currently on tour), was a presenter at this year's awards and we love his funky take on the penguin look. He chose a plaid undershirt and navy blue color with black accents to spice up his look.

VIMwatch: 2010 EMA Style

Ladies

Former Hannah Montana actress and singer Emily Osment rocked the bandage look on Saturday and truly "blue" us away. The color is totally hot.

Shakira definitely deserves a shout out for best dressed of the night because she was stunning in her low-cut, glittery ensemble paired with simple heels. Not to mention it seems to be the look of winter (Similar frocks have been seen on December's Elle and countless others).

Honorable Mention: Miss Miley Cyrus, who looked demure in her black tie evening gown.

Gents

Newly married to Katy Perry, Russell Brand wowed on the red carpet with his woman. We are loving the scarf-rather-than-tie look, paired with white, Western-inspired footwear. (Note: Katy Perry also looked stunning in her admission ticket sequined mini-dress and royal blue high heels that are to die for.)

Johnny Knoxville, though not quite as fancy as the rest of the guests, pulled off his suit and tie sans blazer look, equipped with Ray-Bans, quite well. Semi-casual worked for the sometimes insane funny man.

Album Review: Teenage Dream

We don't hate Katy Perry's latest effort. Why? Because it is what it is. Perry is actually a very talented vocalist and simply chooses to expose the world to insanely bubblegum-y pop deliciousness. She does not ever try to hide behind anyone or anything else and will sing about nearly anything (see: "Peacock" if you don't believe us). Teenage Dream is loaded with infectious dance anthems especially for the college-aged, like "Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F.)." On another note, "Circle the Drain" provides interesting insight into Perry's pre-Russell Brand relationship with Travie McCoy. Even if you don't enjoy Perry, I'm sure you'll get the "Hummingbird Heartbeat" dancing to this album for the next year or so on the club circuit.
Most notable tracks: "The One That Got Away", "Teenage Dream"
