Beyond Blue

Denim is a staple in everyone's closet. Finding a way to update your jeans can be challenging, but celebrities have brought attention to this season's newest denim trend. Brightly colored jeans in every shade of the rainbow are being seen on celebrities such as Kim Kardashian and Sarah Jessica Parker. These colored skinny jeans look best paired with neutral tees, ballet flats or heels.

Favored by celebrities, the brand Current/Elliott has bold colored jeans for $167 at revolveclothing.com. For a celebrity steal, delias.com has vibrant denim for $9.99! Who knew it was that easy to achieve summer's "brightest" trend?

Say 'No' to the Seventies

We're usually quick to jump on-board with the most current fashion trends because, let's face it, who doesn't love a new look? But this year's most recent trend, which aims to bring back the style of the Seventies, is not our cup o' tea.

Stylish celebs Vanessa Hudgens and January Jones were recently spotted out and about sporting psychadelic, bell bottom chic.

Our response? Oh please no.

We prefer to leave the 1970s where they are and seek to remember them solely through photos and footage of Woodstock (and maybe in period pics).

Bandage Tights

New trend? Maybe. We have all heard of—and seen—multiple versions of the bandage dress (thanks to Herve Ledger). Now, lo and behold, there exists bandage tights for those of us interested in trying the style in a different way (thanks to Net-a-Porter).

Though a little bit wacky, we think the ribbon effect just might work if the wearer can find the perfect outfit. Send us pics if you decided to try it out!

Trend to Note: The Female Suit

Two of our favorite fashionistas (Leighton Meester and Halle Barry) have recently been spotted sporting the pant-suit style and we simply had to share it with our future-businesswoman readers. Enjoy and perhaps its time for you to go pick out yours.

Happy shopping!

Top 5 Trends to Try

1. Menswear

Take a cue from the latest man in your life and try this bold trend. Fedoras, vests and boyfriend inspired jeans have been popping up everywhere, but don’t try on everything at once! It’s best to stick to one key piece and add your own feminine touch with bracelets or floral accents. After all you want to look put together, not like your 14-year old younger brother.

2. Floral

Pay tribute to the season with this latest pattern trend. From vivid designs to more subdued prints, floral is both casual and chic on both the runway and the real world. Simple dresses and skirts have been adorned with this fresh look, but dare to try floral on the unexpected sandal or tote bag.

3. Fresh Nail Colors

Stay season appropriate with bright and cheery nail colors, saving the dark, monochromatic shades for the fall. Instead, opt for bright coral, lime green and baby blue. These brilliant lacquer shades are sure to remind you of summer nights well into next season.

4. Distressed Denim

This trend looks best on shorts, so in order to avoid looking like Axl Rose, stick to a dark wash jean. Other outfit pieces should be kept basic; try a loose fitting white tee or solid colored top paired with gladiators.

5. Graphic Print Shades

This season’s perfect shade is both plastic and bold. Think bright prints and graphics that add an extra pop of chic to your wardrobe. Look for shades in hues of neon or for an added bit of color, get your hands on a pair with tinted lenses.

A Trend Worth Trying

Rompers, Jumpers, Jumpsuits, Onesies. Whatever you prefer to call them, they are a staple from the Seventies that are back in full force. While many people are still unsure about them, I think they are a trend worth trying on. Not only are they super comfortable, but they are an easy piece to throw on and wear all day. Versatile enough to wear from day to night, a simple shoe change can be enough to take a romper from flirty in the day to sexy at night. Whether a romper is strapless or long sleeved, printed or plain, there are a couple of things to keep in mind while trying to find the perfect one. First, remember that fit is key. Fit is always very important in clothing, but because a romper is one piece of fabric it is extra important it fits correctly. Second, if you are still not sure about the overall look of rompers, try one with loser shorts, like the one pictured. It will look like more of a dress from certain angles and it is a good way to break into the trend. Third, if you dare to be extra bold, go for one with capris or full length pants to really make a statement. Finally, make sure to personalize it. Throw on a fun hat, chunky necklace, bright lipstick, or whatever you love. Most importantly, just try on rompers to try something new. They’re fun and you may just find they are your new summer favorite.
